Finally, Janice Wingo was awarded the Women’s Racing Team Outstanding Oarswomen award for her dedication to club support this past year. Her unwavering support, enthusiasm and willingness to jump in any boat at a moments notice helped make our intermediate and recreational programs this year a great success. She also stepped out of her comfort zone participating in her first head race in her 1x (Radio Flyer) at the Mystic Coastweeks Regatta in September. Congratulations Janice!
The Outstanding Oarswomen award is given to a women’s racing team member who exemplifies good sports(wo)menship and sets a positive example for other club members through their actions and participation. This award was started in 2017 and was previously awarded to Sara Richman for her dedication to improvement in sculling, having learned to scull in early 2017 and racing the Head of the Charles in a 4x in the fall.
Finally, FVRA is planning a Winter Training Raffle which is in the process of being finalized. Prizes will include a new erg, some FAT ERGO gear and a 2 hour sculling lesson! Keep on the look out for additional information and ticket information.
If you have any questions about what was discussed at this year’s fall meeting please email info@fvra.org. We look forward to seeing everyone for Winter Training @ Trinity in January! Have a wonderful holiday season!
